Like what we do?
THE BRIEF:
Our client, Experience 12 approached us to develop their campaign concept, and design the construction of a giant snowglobe containing the new creature the Myriapod from Netflix' The Witcher S2, to an exceptional level of detail and accuracy:
i) 5m clear inflatable sphere
ii) 3.5m high Myriapod creature
iii) Rock 'collar'
iv) Interior environment; snow, scenery, smoke, lighting
v) Install/derig over a 3 week/7 stop UK tour.
vi) Wind loadings, structural engineer certification.
v) Production solution to maximise sustainability and recycling.
THE BUILD SOLUTION
NETFLIX THE WITCHER
GIANT MYRIAPOD SNOWGLOBE
The Myriapod creature was 3d printed using marine
and industrial waste plastics, reconstituted into
3D printing material. The creature consisted over 200
parts which were connected together around an
internal skeleton.
This gave our tour team a modular and robust system
for efficient and consistent assembly/disassembly
during the three week tour.
The base rock structure was 3 axis CNC machined in
secondary use polystyrene, coated in polyurethane
resin, before being finished and scenic painted by
one of our film industry scenic artists.
The inflatable snow globe was produced in polyester
film, by one of our inflatable teams based in Belgium,
who specialise in ultra-clear spheres.
The Snowglobe and Myriapod toured the UK for 3 weeks
stopping at London, Birmingham, Manchester, Ripon,
Durham, Glasgow and Farnham.
We conducted a thorough Sustainability Assessment
of the entire material supply chain and production teams.
Total carbon footprint was calculated and offsetting
measures were provided to client.
Carbon negative status achieved following the purchase
of carbon offset units.
